Sign a PDF

With your electronic signature (.p12) or your drawn signature. You can also verify the signatures in a PDF. Nothing is uploaded to the internet.

Free · no sign-up required · works on your phone · without uploading your file

It is processed on your device, not on our servers: your files are not uploaded to the internet. With large files it may take a while and your device may run slower while it works; don't close this tab until it finishes.

How do I sign with an electronic signature?

  1. Choose “Electronic (.p12)” and the PDF.
  2. Open your .p12 or .pfx file with its password (the one you created when you got your signature).
  3. If you want, make the signature visible: “QR with details” (QR with your name, ID number and date, and your handwritten signature if you want) or “QR only”. You can also sign with nothing visible.
  4. Confirm that the document is yours and tap “Sign and download”. The signed PDF is checked before it is given to you.

For the drawn signature: choose “Drawn”, create your signature (drawn, photo or typed), place it where it goes and add the date if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Is an electronic signature made here legally valid?

Validity comes from your certificate, not from the tool. If your .p12 was issued by an accredited certification authority in your country, the signature generally has the same validity as a handwritten one (in Ecuador, under the Electronic Commerce, Signatures and Data Messages Law). kit593 only performs the signing operation on your device, in the standard PAdES format recognized by Adobe Acrobat and official validators.

Are my .p12 certificate or my password uploaded?

No. The certificate, the password and the document are only used in this page's memory, on your device. They aren't sent to any server or stored: when you close the page, they're deleted.

Can several people sign the same PDF?

Yes. Each signature is added at the end of the file without changing what came before, so previous signatures remain valid. Each person signs with their own certificate.

How do I verify a signed PDF?

Choose “Verify” and the PDF: you'll see who signed, when, which authority issued the certificate and whether the document changed afterwards. It's a technical check: it doesn't check whether the certificate was revoked. For an official validation, use your country's official validator (in Ecuador, FirmaEC at firmadigital.gob.ec).

Is it useful for electronic invoices or SRI procedures?

Not for SRI electronic receipts: those are signed by your invoicing system in XML format. This tool signs PDF documents: contracts, minutes, letters, requests, quotes.

What about the drawn signature?

It's a graphic signature, like signing by hand and scanning. It works for documents between parties. Procedures that require an electronic signature need a certificate-based signature. Note: adding a drawn signature to a PDF that is already electronically signed invalidates those signatures; use “Electronic (.p12)” in that case.

How many PDFs can I sign?

With a drawn or typed signature, as many as you want (free and unlimited). With an electronic signature (.p12): 3 per day with your free account (2 without an account) and unlimited with kit593 Pro. Verifying signatures is unlimited.
